Supplier - Moments Videography

Moments Videography

What makes your company so unique and stand out?
We are unique as we are a husband and wife team therefore understand the build up and the actual day from both the bride & grooms point of view. We also tailor all our packages around exactly what the customer wants and will travel anywhere in the UK to film! As we are also just about to launch Moments Photography we will also be unique as we will offer both video and photography packages!

Why did you go into business?
We were underwater wreck videographers running our own scuba diving school when a club member approached us about filming her wedding. As we had all the equipment we thought we would give it ago, surely wedding guests can’t be that much different than shipwrecks and fish???!! Anyway the couple were so pleased they recommended us to some of their friends and we ended up with a business! Moments Videography was officially born!

Can you tell us a little about the person behind the business?
a. Name, age etc? Well as I said we are a husband and wife team (just about to celebrate our 1st anniversary on 6th September!) We are called Amy & Daryl Docksey and we are 27 and 38 years old. We live in the West Midlands currently but have lived all over the country and even as far as Spain!
b. Favourite place to relax? Well running two businesses, Moments & Demon Divers we do not have a great deal of time to relax! However we enjoy both jobs very much and have met some lovely people who have become friends so can’t complain too much!

Is your business solely for weddings? Or do you diversify?

We cover weddings, christenings, parties; in fact we will film and photograph pretty much anything!

What is your favourite piece of work and why?

We have enjoyed every event we have ever filmed so can’t really say a favourite. We feel extremely privileged to be involved in the couple’s most special day. However if I had to pick our favourite part of what we film I would say it would be Marryoke as it is just so much fun to do and edit afterwards! We also love meeting new people and going to new places.

Are “Bridezillas” really a nightmare to work with?

No! They are great (I would have to say that though as I was definitely a bridezilla during the build up to our wedding!) They know exactly what they want and always give us as much information as possible about the big day which really helps us capture exactly what they want.

What are the best clients to work with?

We have worked with so many different types of couples and have liked different aspects from all! It does help us when the couple know what they like/want from their DVD though. Although we do not mind choosing the music etc for people it is such a personal thing so does make it a little more difficult for us!

Who would be your ideal client?

That is a tough one! Can’t think or a specific person however I would love to film a big glitzy celebrity wedding!

Finally, what words of wisdom can you pass on to the brides out there?

The only real words of wisdom I could give as far as weddings are concerned is to savour and enjoy every second of your day. Take a step back every now and then and take a look around you taking in as much detail as you can as the day really does fly by.
