Bridal Beauty

Many brides feel that having a professional makeup artist to attend to them on their wedding day is a necessity, indeed I have booked a very lovely lady to “make me beautiful” for my wedding day – Tracy Dunbar from At Home Bridal.

For some women it’s a special treat for the big day, and in all fairness with nerves on the day do you really feel happy applying your eyeliner with shaky hands? Personally I would end up poking my eye or worse making a mess of my foundation and end up looking like something out of a horror film!!

The advantages of using a makeup artist are endless. For starters you don’t’ have the worries that you will look a mess on one of the most important days of your life. Best of all you get pampered, there’s nothing quite like having someone apply your makeup for you whilst you sit there all serene awaiting your transformation to 'beautiful bride’.

When you begin your research into make up for your wedding day there are countless avenues you can go down. There are the makeup counters in the high street stores you can visit for ideas and often they will provide a makeover to show you how well their products work and the best applications for them etc. But often you can feel pressurised into making a purchase of one or all of the products they have used which can be costly. Don’t feel obliged to buy products that you know you are not likely to use ever again, you’re only wasting your money.

Don’t forget that there are also independent beauticians attached to hair salons – might be worth making enquiries next time you’re in for a trim.

What sorts of things should you consider makeup wise for your day? That depends entirely on the type of person you are. Some brides prefer to go for a full beauty package – nails, makeup, waxing etc etc. At Home Bridal in particular offers some fantastic packages for your big day including facials for up to 8 weeks before the wedding. Don’t forget your bridesmaids though, many beauticians offer packages for the whole bridal party so it’ can be a nice treat for you all. Why not treat your mum too, it’s a special day for her too.

For more information on bridal makeup please drop me an email, I’m more than happy to recommend At Home Bridal who are doing my own wedding makeup. Or have a look at their website.
